Dhaval Patel, DPM

Dr. Dhaval Patel is a highly skilled and dedicated lower extremity multi-specialist. He is renowned for providing exceptional limb, foot, and ankle care. With a strong educational background and extensive hands-on experience in the fields of Podiatric Medicine, Wound Care, Limb Salvage, Reconstructive Forefoot / Rearfoot / & Ankle Surgery alongside his commitment to helping patients achieve optimal foot health and an overall well-being, Dr. Patel makes a great choice for you and your loved ones. Dr. Patel graduated with distinction from the most prestigious New York School of Podiatric Medicine. During his time there he excelled academically and demonstrated a deep understanding of both the medical and surgical aspects of the field. He was class president, student council president, president of international podiatry club that he himself founded. The club continues to go on mission trips to help those who are less fortunate in third world countries today. They go with a team of physicians and students to treat varieties of issues and even performing surgeries on site with attendings present in efforts to train the local doctors on how to perform high level techniques. He earned the Doctor of Podiatric Medicine (DPM) degree with honors and graduated in the top of his class. Committed to advancing his knowledge and staying at the forefront of the specialized field, Dr. Patel attended a 3-year specialized residency in Reconstructive Rearfoot and Ankle Surgery. Followed by surgical fellowship. He later achieved his board certification and became a Diplomate of the American Board of Podiatric Medicine (DABPM). This certification recognizes his expertise and dedication to providing the highest standard of care for his patients. Beyond his clinical practice, Dr. Patel is actively involved in the professional community. He frequently attends conferences, seminars, and workshops to stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in his field. Adam Shapiro, DPM

Adam Marshall Shapiro, MD, is an experienced podiatrist serving patients at Family Foot & Ankle Center in Upland, California. His appetite and thirst to become a podiatrist came from observing his grandfather’s painfully debilitating experience with diabetes. His inability to walk and quality of life were progressively taken away due to amputations. At that point, Dr. Shapiro decided to become a podiatrist to ensure this did not happen to anyone else. Dr. Shapiro graduated from The University of Colorado at Boulder with a Bachelor of Arts in history. During that time, he had a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to study abroad with the noted Nobel Peace Prize recipient Archbishop Desmond Tutu. During his undergraduate years, Dr. Shapiro also served the community while working in the hospital environment and as an emergency medical technician (EMT). While working in a hospital setting as well as an EMT, he was able to work with young and old trauma victims, neurologically unstable patients, and the critically ill. Dr. Shapiro received his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine from The California School of Podiatric Medicine at Samuel Merritt University in Oakland, California. While in medical school, he volunteered as a prosecutor in a podiatrist’s office. Dr. Shapiro received multiple scholarships for his outstanding academic performance. He completed his competitive three-year podiatric residency at Weiss Memorial Hospital and its satellite-associated off-site facilities in Chicago, Illinois. Dr. Shapiro worked alongside many talented podiatric physicians in their private offices during this time. He received extensive training in repairing acute fractures of the forefoot, midfoot, and rearfoot, external fixation, bunion corrections, hammertoe deformity repairs, limb salvage, and plastic surgery. All these experiences, with the commitment to continuous learning about medicine, energize Dr. Shapiro’s enthusiasm to give back to people and plan for future challenges in podiatric medicine. Born and raised in Southern California, Dr. Shapiro’s sports activities include long-distance running, snowboarding, basketball, and rock climbing. He also enjoys watching the University of Colorado Buff’s basketball and football teams.

Jason Homan, DPM

Dr. Jason Homan, DPM, DABPM, FACPM is a board-certified podiatric physician and surgeon based in Southern California with extensive expertise in foot and ankle care, wound management, and limb salvage. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Podiatric Medicine, a Fellow of the American College of Podiatric Medicine, and a Fellow of the American Professional Wound Care Association.

Dr. Homan received his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine from the California School of Podiatric Medicine, where he held leadership roles including President of the Student National Podiatric Medical Association and Secretary of the American Academy of Podiatric Practice Management student division. He completed his surgical residency at the VA San Francisco, serving as Chief Resident in his final year, and trained across several prestigious institutions including UCSF’s Center for Limb Preservation and Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital’s Orthopedic Trauma Institute.

Currently, Dr. Homan is the Medical Director of Podiatry at Family Medical Center in North Hollywood and practices at Family Foot & Ankle Center in Upland. He also provides care to underserved populations at Family Health Care Centers of Greater Los Angeles and formerly served as Podiatry Section Chair at Mills-Peninsula Medical Center.

Dr. Homan specializes in non-surgical and minimally invasive treatments for musculoskeletal and chronic foot/ankle pain, including custom orthotics, PRP, amniotic injections, and biomechanical therapy. He has managed surgical centers, led multi-specialty teams, and championed holistic approaches to foot and ankle care. His practice includes advanced wound care and limb salvage interventions using bioengineered cellular therapies and hyperbaric oxygen therapy.

An advocate for public health and education, Dr. Homan has served on the Podiatric Medicine Education Advisory Committee and has delivered presentations at UCSF Grand Rounds and CSPM symposiums. In 2025, he was recognized among California’s Top Podiatrists by Best of California Magazine.
